Bonnaroo, baby!

For Father's Day weekend, we hung out with David at Bonnaroo.
Lucas loved the sights, sounds, people, and made lots of girlfriends.
I'm afraid one day he will be the guy with the frisbee,
hula hoop or twirly glow stick!

Lapful of love

whoa, check out all these hippies...

Lucas eyes Jim's (lead singer of My Morning Jacket) beer.

rock on, party animals.

Which one of these 3 is the bobblehead?

My favorite Bonnaroo moment
We were resting on a quilt, listening to the band,
it was overcast and cool, and Lucas kicked up
his foot and fell asleep. Ahhh....

Hippie Caravan & Jamming
King of his ride and jamming to The Lee Boys

Snack Attack

monkey or human?

The Nashville Zoo

A very hot day at the Nashville Zoo

The kids pick appropriate animals...

Lucas' first real merry-go-round ride.
(The one at Walmart doesn't count).

In the meercat hut.
If their holes smell as bad as the hut, they can keep to themselves.

Nature boy - This bird kissed and kissed him!

You can't see the Macaws, but they are screaming.
Eventually they make Lucas cry.

Making Fish Friends
I think the fish thought he could realistically take him on...

Mallrats

Hanging with Uncle Niko at the mall.

Yo, dude, all these chics are totally digging me.
You wanna cruise by the Cinnabons again?

Hey mister, can I get one of these bass boats in blue?

Holy crap, I'm driving!!

Oh yeah, I better concentrate.

White Trash Yard Sale

A street long family yard sale, a super hot day, a bunch of crap for sale
and an old doo-rag... you start feeling like your kid is starting
to look a little white trash... and that's when you just have to embrace it.

Do we look tough enough yet, Uncle Niko?

This doo-rag you found IS pretty bitch'n, Ya-Ya.

But I can't reach the pedals...

Not so tough clenching my toastie.

whew, yard sale'n is exhausting.

Safari

It's a regular safari park around here lately
with wild creatures and new pets. If he could,
Lucas would squish every one of them,
so we are now learning "gentle".

Lucas & the baby chicks
This is how he learned 'bwak, bwak', but today he wouldn't say it.
He loves to check on the chicks everyday and give
them strawberries from the garden.
(ones he doesn't eat first).

Lucas & the turtle
This is the smallest turtle I've ever seen up close.
I found it by the garden - it's a baby snapping turtle!
(so yes, I was a little scared it would take Lucas' finger off).
We have a huge snapping turtle that makes a trek across
our yard every year to our neighbor's pond, but I haven't seen
him this year. I like to think that this is his offspring.

Lucas & the frog
Lucas the frog prince either tries to kiss the frog or eat it...
we're not sure.
